The service was founded in the early 1980s ReadiBus has met the transport needs of many thousands of people with all kinds of mobility needs. The bus service is for people of all ages who can’t make use of the mainstream bus services offered in the area. When ReadiBus started out, mainstream bus services and other forms of public transport were much more difficult for people with restricted mobility to use.
Since then, accessible public transport has come on by leaps and bounds, but so has the ability of venues, shops and public buildings to welcome people with restricted mobility. All this means ReadiBus serves more people than ever and over a great range of ages and abilities.
ReadiBus has always invested in training for our staff and volunteers. Of course there are safety procedures and other routines that it is essential that everyone working with ReadiBus understands.
ReadiBus is a registered charity. ReadiBus is supported by community grants from local authorities as well as through individual fundraising and legacies.
If you have restricted mobility, or you care for a person who has, you can from this website request to register to use the ReadiBus service and, once your application has been approved make booking requests.
